Economy
Fujian province's gross domestic product (GDP) reached 5.31 trillion yuan ($786.11 billion) in 2022, up 4.7 percent from that in 2021, and the province has set a GDP growth target of around 6 percent for 2023.
In 2022, the province's investment in fixed assets increased by 7.5 percent, total retail sales of social consumer goods increased by 3.3 percent, and its imports and exports soared 7.6 percent. The total output value from Fujian's agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fisheries grew 3.9 percent. The province's value-added industrial output grew 5 percent.
Administrative divisions
Fujian province governs nine cities with subordinate districts including Fuzhou, Xiamen, Zhangzhou, Quanzhou, Sanming, Putian, Nanping, Longyan, and Ningde, as well as a comprehensive experimental zone in Pingtan, 11 county-level cities, 31 urban districts and 42 counties (including Jinmen county).
